What is the Prayer Team?

Prayer Team Ministry

The Prayer Team is an unusual and special ministry at PPMCC. It’s unusual because its members are mostly anonymous, provide their services privately, and never discuss what they’re doing with anyone but God. It’s special because it helps others by praying for their needs while deeply blessing those who participate. Simply put, it’s one of the easiest and most rewarding ways to help others and yourself! Team members receive prayer requests sent to our church and offer those prayers in their daily communication with God in their own unique and personal way.

How Does One Pray?

Some people find praying an easy thing to do, while others find it more challenging. The truth is there isn’t any secret formula for praying, and there’s isn’t a right way or wrong way—although Jesus offered us some good advice. “But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to our Creator secretly. Then your Creator, who knows all secrets, will reward you.” You don’t have to use any special words, you don’t have to pray at a certain time, and you don’t have to pray in a certain way. Prayer is really just communication—it is just talking with your closest friend—God. While there isn’t a right way or wrong way to pray, some people have a simple process to help them remember everything. A popular one uses the acronym A.C.T.S. Adoration (acknowledging the Sacred), Confession (acknowledging our own weaknesses), Thanksgiving (thanking God for blessing us), and Supplication (asking for what we need). Whether people find prayer easy or difficult, want a process or not, one thing is certain: God loves it when we pray. And God doesn’t much care how we do it as long as we’re doing it! So open up some communication with God!!
