By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But all of us should be careful how we build. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.“ —1 Corinthians 3:10-11 (NIV)
The structure we are building is being laid on top of a very solid foundation—Jesus Christ. We don’t have to worry about the foundation—it is solid. What we do need to concern ourselves with is what and how we build on top of it. How? Attend our all-church retreat and learn how!
Even though registration is just beginning, our retreat will be here before you know it! This is “The Year of Building” here at our church, and our retreat theme coincides with it: “Building Under Construction” (to see the retreat logo, turn to page 8). Our theme can refer to many things: building relationships, building faith, building dedication, building our spiritual house, building community, and more. We will explore these elements at retreat with our speaker, Rev. Colleen Darraugh (pic and bio below).
We had such a great time last year at John Wesley Ranch, so we are going back again this year! They have sand volleyball, horseshoes, fishing, and frisbee golf for outdoor entertainment during free time. They also have a labyrinth and prayer trail, plus many walking trails and a fire pit for s’mores! The retreat is scheduled for May 31st – June 2nd, 2013. Registration forms are on the table in the back of the sanctuary. Hope to see you all there to share in this powerful spiritual experience!
