Building from the Inside

Denise Foerch Spiritual DirectorDenise Foerch, Spiritual Director

A couple of Sundays ago, Pastor Wes talked about our personal past and the importance of looking at those things that keep us from growing and changing.  We were encouraged to spend time exploring our past in a positive way, with the intention for healing to take place.  How many of us have been able to do this exploring? And how is it going?

My personal journey of continuing to become who God intended me to be has transformed my life.  I hardly recognize myself when I look back over the years and think about where I’ve been.  I have often wondered how I was able to do more than just survive.  And then I am reminded of different friends or family members who supported me along the way.  Sometimes, they were like angels put in my life at just the right time.  I’m grateful for their presence in my life.  I have looked at choices I’ve made along my journey, recognizing that each one opened up a new thought process or a different path for me to take.

Gradually, I discovered Scripture again.  All those verses I underlined and memorized through the years that I couldn’t even look at or read for a while because of my confusion and anger.  I have realized there is, indeed, wisdom and insight written in Scripture all those many years ago.  I no longer have a tangible image of God.  The Sacred has become, to me, bigger than my mind can contain.  I am much more aware of God’s Spirit moving within.

Inner Spiritual Energy lives within you and me, never out of reach, always available.  The Spirit is motivated by love to be with us as we journey through this life.  Are you aware of God’s Spirit and Energy within you?  Do you access it?  It’s not “magic”, just a choice to embrace and receive what has already been given.

I would love to hear about your journey.  Come and tell me about where you’ve been, where you are currently, and where are you going.  I would love to provide guidance in any way I can along your spiritual journey.  Please contact me at denise@ppmcc.org and let’s journey together.
